Law enforcement officials, along with store investigators, apprehended two individuals in the city's central district.
In a swift operation on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, Hagen Police successfully apprehended two shoplifters in the city centre. The suspects, aged 38 and 23, were pursued after they were caught stealing perfume bottles from a store on Hohenzollernstraße.
According to Polizei Hagen, transmitted via news aktuell, the suspects were identified by police officers as they were fleeing the scene. One of them was holding an altered bag, while the other was placing stolen perfume bottles into it. The bag was modified to avoid triggering the store's exit alarm.
The suspects were pursued through Rathausstraße, then through Potthofstraße, and ended up in Dr. Ferdinand-David-Park where they were apprehended by police officers. A large sum of cash and the stolen goods, valued at over 1,500 euros, were found on the suspects.
The Criminal Investigation Department has taken over further investigations. Due to existing custodial sentences, the suspects were provisionally arrested and taken into police custody.
