Stuttgart Police Arrest 59 French Hooligans Ahead of Champions League Match

In a bid to maintain peace and order during the upcoming Champions League match between VfB Stuttgart and Paris Saint-Germain, the Stuttgart Police conducted targeted, low-key controls on numerous French hooligans from Tuesday afternoon until late Tuesday evening.

The police operations, which included intensive investigations and close cooperation with Parisian police, resulted in the arrest of 59 French hooligans. According to reports, these individuals were found at the main station and various Stuttgart hotels.

The Stuttgart Police took this action to prevent severe riots during the highly anticipated match on January 29, 2025. It was revealed that the French hooligans had traveled to Stuttgart without tickets and were found in possession of disguise materials, indicating their intent to cause trouble.

Meanwhile, some Stuttgart risk fans were also found trying to locate French hooligans and carrying passive weapons. As a result, 47 of these fans were issued city center and Bad Cannstatt bans, prohibiting them from attending the match.

The Stuttgart Police have announced that they will be taking extensive security measures on the day of the match to ensure a safe international football event for all visitors. The official press releases regarding these measures can be found on the Stuttgart Police's official website at www.polizei-bw.de, as well as on www.presseportal.de.

It's important to note that German and French hooligans from both clubs had intended to seek violent confrontations outside the stadium before the game. However, the swift actions taken by the Stuttgart Police have significantly reduced the risk of such incidents.

The office hours for the Stuttgart Police Headquarters Press Office are Monday to Friday, 06:30 AM to 06:00 PM. The Stuttgart Police urge all fans to respect each other and enjoy the match in a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere.
