Leader of press and digital communication for BDEW is Heinrich
Birgit Heinrich Takes Over as Head of Press and Online Communications at BDEW
Birgit Heinrich commenced her tenure as the head of the Press and Online Communications team at the Federal Association of Energy and Water Industries (BDEW) on July 1st. In her new role, she succeeds Jan Ulland and reports directly to Kerstin Andreae, Chair of the Management Board of the BDEW.
Heinrich brings ample communication experience in the energy policy sector to her new position. Prior to her current role, she served as the press spokesperson for the BDEW. Her extensive background is primarily in the energy policy field.
Heinrich's new role at the BDEW involves leading the Press and Online Communications team. She replaced Jan Ulland as the leader of the department, indicating she works under or alongside the leadership of key BDEW figures such as Dr. Torsten Birkholz (Managing Director), Dr. Sven Barnekow (Department Head), and Dr. Jörg Teupen (Chairman of the North Germany regional group).
In her new position, Heinrich will be instrumental in shaping public messaging regarding energy policies, including electricity price relief measures planned for January 2026. She will play a crucial role in communicating the BDEW's stance on various energy-related issues to the public and media.
