The remake will be independently developed by Ramirez's production company, Pinstripes, in collaboration with his college friend Tom Culliver.
The new Scarface adaptation will draw inspiration from both the original 1932 film version and its 1983 remake. The story will be based on the 1930's novel Scarface by Armitage Trail, providing a fresh take on the classic tale of ambition, power, and corruption.
Ramirez will not only star as the infamous drug lord but will also produce the project through Pinstripes. The production company, which Ramirez co-runs with Culliver, is currently looking for partners for their projects, including the highly anticipated Scarface remake.
