Lebach Traffic Mishap: Two Individuals Sustained Grave Injuries in a Road Accident

A serious car accident occurred in Lebach, Saarland on Saturday, May 24 at 17:24, involving a silver VW Passat and a red Mitsubishi Outlander at the junction with the L 334.

The driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander, a 42-year-old individual from Lebach, and the driver of the VW Passat, a 72-year-old woman from Eppelborn, were both seriously injured in the accident. The 32-year-old man driving the Mitsubishi Outlander was found to be slightly intoxicated, and it was discovered that he was driving without a license.
The passenger in the Mitsubishi was lightly injured in the accident. Fortunately, no influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication was found in any of the drivers.
Both cars sustained total economic damage, estimated to be around 40,000 euros. The accident site was closed for approximately 4.5 hours.
An unrelated 32-year-old man from Lebach drove through the accident scene, but was stopped and checked by security personnel shortly after.
The fire department, the state road authority, and an accident reconstruction expert were present at the scene to process the accident. A proceeding was initiated against the 32-year-old man under § 21 StVG.
