LED Technology Enhances Tourist Destinations into Immersive Experiences

In the dynamic world of tourism, first impressions matter greatly. This is where Hikvision's LED display technology comes into play, revolutionising the hospitality industry across Southeast Asia.

At the heart of this transformation is the Peninsula-Bay Resort in Cambodia, which boasts a massive outdoor LED display system spanning 534.5 square meters. The system features three giant LED video walls, designed with waterproof protection and automatic moisture control to withstand harsh conditions such as intense sunlight, sea breezes, and heavy monsoon rains.

Hikvision's LED display technology offers hotels, resorts, and tourist attractions a way to create impressive first impressions, improve guest experiences with dynamic, relevant content, reduce operating costs, build stronger brand recognition, and integrate seamlessly with existing systems for clear communication.

The Okada Manila, a luxurious 5-star resort in the Philippines, has also embraced this technology. At its main entrance, an impressive 146-square-meter LED video wall operates 24/7, showcasing hotel promotions, events, and other engaging content. Remarkably, the video wall is designed to withstand Manila's hot and humid climate without the need for air conditioning.

The adoption of LED display technology is not limited to these two resorts. Although specific tourism companies in Southeast Asia implementing LED display installations are not explicitly named, the region shows rapid growth in LED applications, particularly in luxury hotels and infrastructure projects. This suggests that tourism-related businesses are likely adopting advanced LED technologies for advertising and engagement purposes.

LED displays consume significantly less power than traditional lighting and have longer lifespans, reducing operating costs. Moreover, they are a powerful way to engage, inform, and entertain guests in various tourist destinations such as entertainment venues, public spaces, and tourist attractions.

The hospitality lighting market, including LED lighting, was valued at $20 billion in 2023 and is projected to reach $30 billion by 2028. LED lighting now accounts for over 70% of this market, a testament to its growing popularity and effectiveness.

Hikvision's LED display solutions empower the tourism industry, turning the concept "tech for industry" into reality. Advanced LED systems offer centralised control, allowing businesses to update content remotely, schedule changes, and manage multiple screens seamlessly. For instance, the Hikvision outdoor LED display system at the Peninsula-Bay Resort allows for off-site management through a comprehensive Keyboard, Video, and Mouse (KVM) system, minimizing on-site maintenance.

Large-scale building-mounted displays serve as powerful landmarks that can be seen from great distances, further enhancing the tourist experience. LED displays are a practical solution and a strategic move toward a digital future for tourism businesses seeking to elevate their offerings and leave a lasting impression.
