In the heart of the Yakutsk Industrial District today, a special event was held to commemorate Victory Day over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II. The "Singing Courtyard" event, much like the main event, was filled with speeches expressing boundless respect for the veterans and the importance of preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War and the victory over Japan.

Among the attendees were several World War II veterans, including Martyn Gerasimovich Grigoryev, Anatoly Sergeyevich Makushin, and others whose presence added a poignant touch to the occasion. Despite their inability to attend, fellow blockade survivors Elvira Davydovna Ushnitskaya and Antonina Alexandrovna Prishchepova received words of congratulations and gratitude.

The event featured a variety of performances by talented ensembles and individuals from Yakutsk. Anna-Diva, the Tulagino-Kildyamsky Heritage Cultural Workers Ensemble, 3rd grade "a" class students from the B.A. Gorbatuk Middle School, the Industrial District veterans' ensemble "Ivushki," and Svetlana Khomutayeva were among the performers who graced the event with their talents.

Gregory Petrov, People's Artist of the Sakha Republic, enchanted the veterans with unforgettable songs that echoed the spirit of the occasion. His performance served as a vivid testament that the feat of Soviet warriors will not be forgotten.

The event was not just a repetition of previous congratulations and gratitude given to the veterans. Instead, it emphasized the significance of preserving the memories of the Great Patriotic War and the victory over Japan for future generations.

Yevdokia Yevsikova, First Deputy Chairman of the Yakutsk City Duma, and Vladimir Dorozhkin, First Deputy Mayor of Yakutsk, were present at the event, underscoring the importance of such commemorations in the city.

Yevdokia Yevsikova also presented Martyn Gerasimovich and Anatoly Sergeyevich with lamps lit from the Eternal Flame at the Victory Square, as part of the memorial "Fires of Victory" event.

The "Singing Courtyard" event was more than just a celebration; it was a reminder that the memory of the Great Victory will live on in the hearts of many generations, thanks to events like this one. Despite the passage of time, the sacrifices and triumphs of the past will continue to inspire and unite us.
