Lenovo undergoes development of a laptop sporting a convertible, rotating display capable of seamlessly transitioning from portrait to landscape mode, as "Project Pivo" is inadvertently exposed prior to its scheduled unveiling in the coming week.

Lenovo is set to unveil a new concept laptop at the IFA event in Europe next week. The laptop, known as Project Pivo or VertiFlex, features a rotating display that allows it to switch between landscape and portrait orientations.

This innovative device is thought to be the spiritual successor to the LG Wing, with its unique design offering a single rotating display. When in portrait position, the laptop may have large black bars on the side to accommodate the screen rotation.

Lenovo has been at the forefront of display technology, having previously showcased a laptop with a rollable display and another with a transparent MicroLED screen. The existence of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, which incorporates Lenovo's rollable display technology, indicates that some of their concepts eventually make it to market.

The AI-powered feature in Project Pivo is designed to utilise the laptop's sensors (mic, cam, etc.) to adjust the notebook in real-time based on the user's position. This feature is not mentioned in any of the earlier bullet points.

The suspected name of the Lenovo laptop with a rotatable screen is the ThinkBook VertiFlex Concept, also referred to internally as "Project Pivo" and associated with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 series. The price of the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, which incorporates Lenovo's rollable display technology, was $3,499.

The existence of dual-screen devices like the LG Wing and monitors that can transition from flat to curved suggests that Project Pivo's technology might become a commercial product in the future.

Stay tuned for more updates on Project Pivo as it is unveiled at the IFA event next week. Lenovo continues to push the boundaries of technology, and this new concept laptop is no exception.
