Lifelong female health: an overview

The Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care, and Prevention, along with the Augsburg Health Department, have launched a series of initiatives aimed at promoting women's health and reducing taboos and prejudices about women-specific topics, particularly menopause.

From October 7 to November 25, 2025, an online lecture series focusing on women's health during menopause will be offered. Participants can join these informative sessions via Microsoft Teams, with no registration required and no fees to pay. Each lecture will be given by experts in the field.

Menopause is a unique phase in a woman's life, during which her natural hormone production changes, leading to various physical changes such as the cessation of menstrual bleeding, hot flashes, sweating, fatigue, exhaustion, and sleep disturbances. A woman's attitudes towards aging, fertility, and sexuality also play a significant role in her experience of menopause.

The lectures aim to support women by providing education, information, and reducing taboos and prejudices about menopause. One of the experts involved in these online offerings is Diana Sicher-Fritsch, who is known for supporting women healthily and strongly through menopause.

In addition to the online lectures, a citizen's day focused on women's health was organised by the Health Department and the Health Region of the City of Augsburg on June 16, 2024. Approximately 500 attendees were present at the event, which featured numerous information booths from various actors in the Augsburg health sector, the Augsburg Playmobile, and interactive activities. The citizen's day, like the online lecture series, focused on women's health and aimed to raise public awareness of girls' and women's health.

Promoting women's health and preventing women-specific diseases are at the core of these initiatives. By providing accessible and informative resources, the Bavarian State Ministry and the Augsburg Health Department hope to empower women and improve their overall well-being. The online lectures will take place on Tuesdays, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. A detailed guide to participation, including the access link, is available on the official website.
