Limburg Crime Wave: Thefts, Assaults, and Reckless Driving Spark Police Investigation
A series of incidents unfolded in Limburg and its surrounding districts over the past few days, involving theft, assault, and reckless driving. Authorities are investigating these incidents and appealing for witnesses.
On Friday night, two suspects attempted to steal drinks from a supermarket in Limburg. An employee confronted them, leading to their hasty retreat. The police are seeking information about the suspects, described as a male, around 15 years old, tall with long curly hair, southern appearance, and wearing black adidas clothing.
Earlier that day, a 31-year-old man from Braunfels lost control of his car due to excessive speed on the L3451. The resulting accident caused an estimated 61,000 euros in property damage.
In a separate incident, a 15-year-old from the Limburg-Weilburg district was physically assaulted near a sports field. The unknown assailant used punches, kicks, and pepper spray, causing injuries to the victim.
Between Thursday evening and Friday morning, two excavator buckets were stolen from a parking lot in Waldbrunn, resulting in approximately 2,300 euros of damage.
A motorcyclist was stopped on the B 456 for erratic driving and was found to be under the influence of narcotics, driving without a license, and violating compulsory insurance laws. The 46-year-old driver from the northern part of the Limburg-Weilburg district was taken to the Weilburg police station and later released, with the motorcycle temporarily seized and towed. The driver was also taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
The police are urging anyone with information about these incidents to come forward. They remind the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity. Meanwhile, they warn drivers about the dangers of speeding and driving under the influence.
