Live broadcast features French streamer's death: Jean Pormanove
Jean Pormanove, a popular French streamer known as Raphaël Graven, passed away on August 22nd, 2025, during a live broadcast. His death has sent shockwaves through the online community, and the circumstances surrounding his passing are currently under investigation.
The public prosecutor's office in France has initiated a probe into Pormanove's death. Reports suggest that he experienced violent episodes during his streams and did not get enough sleep. These concerns have been echoed by French government minister, Clara Chappaz, who described his death as an "absolute horror" and expressed her continued worry over the circumstances.
Sarah El Haïry, France's High Commissioner for Children, also expressed her distress, labelling Pormanove's death as "horrifying." Chappaz further stated that Pormanove had been "humiliated" for months. An autopsy has been requested to determine the exact cause of death.
Pormanove had built a strong community on the live-streaming platform Kick, with over a million followers across all his social media sites. Owen Cenazandotti, a member of Pormanove's group on Kick, known as Naruto, asked people to respect his memory. Naruto referred to Pormanove as his "brother, sidekick, partner."
Naruto also confirmed that no videos of Pormanove's "last breath" were posted online. Kick, the live-streaming platform similar to Twitch, is urgently reviewing the circumstances of Pormanove's death. The company is committed to upholding its community rules, designed to protect creators.
The French police investigation into Pormanove's death is ongoing. The investigation was opened by the French judiciary, with the official inquiry being led by the judicial authorities. The community mourns the loss of a beloved figure and awaits the results of the investigation to understand the tragic events that led to his passing.
