"Live Sports Studio 2025 Finals Air on ZDF and ZDF"
The city of Dresden will be the centre of sports action from July 31 to August 3, 2025, as the fifth edition of the "Finals 2025" multisport event takes place. Approximately 3,500 athletes will compete in 20 sports and 133 German championship titles.
The event, located in the heart of the city and directly on the Elbe, will be broadcast by ZDF and ARD. In a statement, ZDF's sports director, Yorck Polus, expressed his excitement, stating that the Finals will present the diversity of German high-performance sports to a large audience.
ZDF will report from Dresden during the Finals and will be present with a stand and the "sportstudio" goal wall in the Ostra sports park. Frequent switching between the nine sports venues in Dresden, located within a radius of approximately 2.5 kilometers, is planned during the broadcast.
From 10:00 AM on the "Finals" days, the competitions will be available on live streams on sportstudio.de. Lena Kesting will guide viewers through the two "Finals" days on ZDF.
On Friday, August 1, 2025, the "sportstudio live" show will start at 2:05 PM with the men's and women's multi-event athletics. Fencing, coastal rowing, rhythmic gymnastics, canoeing, gymnastics, and rugby are among the sports scheduled for Friday afternoon.
The final day will start at 10:15 AM with the men's triathlon. Flag football, speed climbing, breaking, badminton, archery, rowing, and 3x3 basketball are also scheduled for the final day. On Sunday, ZDF will air the championship competitions from Dresden on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 2:05 PM to 7:00 PM, and on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 10:15 AM to 7:00 PM.
ZDF will broadcast the Breaking competition featuring the TOP 8 B-Boys Pro from 13:50 to 14:50, along with daily summaries of the Finals 2025 Dresden events in the "heute journal". The championships in athletics, canoeing, and gymnastics will also be featured on ZDF's program on the final day.
Two-time Olympic canoeing champion, ZDF expert Ronald Rauhe, described the Finals as being like small national Olympic Games with many sports, big emotions, and real highlights. Sandrina Sperlich will be present at the "Finals 2025" in Dresden.
In addition to the live broadcast on ZDF and sportstudio.de, ARD and ZDF will broadcast more than 30 hours live in their main programs, with an additional 100 hours available online.
