Liverpool secures blockbuster deal with Isak as English football clubs break transfer record, shelling out a staggering $4 billion in the summer transfer market

The summer transfer window has come to a close, and English football clubs have once again proven their financial might. According to reports, a record-breaking £3 billion ($4.15 billion) has been spent, surpassing the previous record of £2.36 billion ($3.2 billion) set in 2023.
One of the biggest moves of the window saw Chelsea bolster their defensive line with the signing of England left-back Marc Cucurella from Brighton for a fee of £62 million ($84 million). Meanwhile, Chelsea's London rivals Arsenal have been busy in the market, spending over $300 million on players such as Eberechi Eze, Viktor Gyokeres, and Martin Zubimendi.
Manchester United have also been active, bringing in Senne Lammens, a Belgian goalkeeper from Royal Antwerp, as well as strengthening their defence with the signing of 2018 World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard on loan from Inter Milan.
Leicester City have added Spanish goalkeeper Danny Ward to their squad, signing him from Liverpool on a free transfer. Meanwhile, West Ham United have secured the services of Portuguese forward Goncalo Guedes on a season-long loan from Valencia.
In the race for European football, Fulham have made a significant move with the signing of Spanish forward Alex Moreno from Real Sociedad on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee. Nottingham Forest have also bolstered their attack with Portuguese forward Diogo Costa, who has joined from Benfica for a reported fee of £17 million ($23 million).
Leeds United have added strength to their midfield with the signing of England midfielder Lewis O'Brien from Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee. Elsewhere, Aston Villa have made a number of high-profile signings, including midfielder Harvey Elliot on loan from Liverpool, winger Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United, and former United center back Victor Lindelof on a free transfer.
Newcastle have splashed the cash with the signing of Yoane Wissa from Brentford for a reported £55 million ($75 million). Liverpool have responded by signing Alexander Isak from Newcastle for a British-record fee of £125 million ($170 million).
Tottenham have strengthened their attack with the loan signing of France striker Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain. Bayern Munich have also brought in reinforcements, with Senegal forward Nicolas Jackson joining on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
Finally, Marseille have made a couple of high-profile signings, bringing in left-back Emerson Palmieri from West Ham and loaning in 2018 World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard from Inter Milan. However, they have also parted ways with coach Gennaro Gattuso on the transfer deadline day.
The transfer window has closed, but the Premier League season is just getting started. With these new signings, fans can expect an exciting and competitive season ahead.
