Living in the locale of Lake Chapala, an individual is allegedly under scrutiny for the theft of a substantial sum of US$4 million.

In a shocking turn of events, Kinley Lee, a former controller at Coldstream Country Club, is wanted in the United States for embezzling over $871,688 from the club. His wife, Katherine Sulky, is believed to be involved in the crime as well.

Lee began working for Coldstream in February 2023, with an annual salary of $95,000. However, court documents reveal that he and his wife meticulously planned their escape, closing bank accounts, selling and transferring assets, and even purchasing a 2022 Kia SUV for nearly $50,000 using allegedly stolen funds.

The Hamilton County judge found Lee and Sulky guilty of the theft, and under Ohio law, Coldstream is owed triple damages. This brings the total for both Lee and Sulky to nearly $4 million, a sum that, according to attorney Christopher McDowell, can't be discharged through bankruptcy.

Lee's past at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where he was a star golfer, seems far removed from the current allegations against him. McDowell, an attorney for Coldstream, also mentioned that the victim in the case, Coldstream Country Club, is a corporate entity that will exist long into the future.

A former Coldstream official accused Lee of manipulating wage and reimbursement payments to himself. The couple's departure was timed to avoid an audit that would have uncovered the theft.

In December 2023, Coldstream Country Club sued Lee and Sulky, alleging the theft of nearly $900,000. Despite attempts by The Enquirer to reach out to them through previous email addresses, neither Lee nor Sulky have responded.

If Lee is found and returned to the U.S., McDowell plans to ask for a lengthy prison sentence. He also mentioned that if Lee shows up at any port of entry in the U.S., he will be arrested. As of now, the couple is believed to be living in a community near Lake Chapala, Mexico, but there are no available search results providing information on who Kinley Lee is or what happened to him since his escape.
