On the night of August 25, 2025, a strange event unfolded in the municipalities of Hattstedt and Bordelum, located in the North Friesland District. A patrol car was dispatched to Bordelum at 23:15, following a suspicious vehicle report via the emergency line.

The call provided real-time location updates, enabling the car to be stopped for inspection. Upon investigation, officers discovered a young couple inside the vehicle. It was found that several traffic signs from the municipalities of Hattstedt and Bordelum, as well as an additional sign from the Hattstedter Marsch bearing the inscription "Broweg", were stolen and found in the car.

A tool used to remove the traffic signs was also seized. The couple admitted to stealing the signs for decorative purposes. As a result, a criminal investigation for theft has been initiated, and the Flensburg Police Directorate is currently involved in the ongoing investigation.
