Tottenham Hotspur Eyeing Loic Remy as Potential Striker Signing

There is growing speculation that Tottenham Hotspur could be set to sign French international striker Loic Remy. The Premier League club is currently the most likely to secure the services of the 33-year-old forward, according to bookmakers Ladbrokes, who are offering odds of 2/1 for the deal to go through.

Remy, who has scored 14 Premier League goals while on loan with Newcastle United, expressed his desire to join a Champions League side for the 2014/15 season. This ambition could potentially be met by a move to Tottenham, who qualified for the Champions League for the first time since the 2010/11 season.

Arsenal and Liverpool were previously reported to be interested in signing Remy, but it appears that the striker's future no longer lies with either of those clubs. Arsenal have confirmed that they are no longer pursuing Remy, while Liverpool are reportedly in the market for Swansea's Wilfried Bony instead.

Remy's potential move to Tottenham would add to the club's French contingent, which already includes players such as Younes Kaboul, Etienne Capoue, and Hugo Lloris. However, the specific terms of any potential deal between Remy and Tottenham have not been disclosed.

Queens Park Rangers, Remy's current club, are reportedly trying to convince the striker to stay, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to match Tottenham's offer. Remy's time at QPR was marked by a successful spell on loan with Newcastle, but his transfer to Chelsea in the summer of 2014 was ultimately unsuccessful due to a failed medical. He subsequently passed a medical at Chelsea and joined them instead.

As the transfer window approaches its close, the race to sign Remy is heating up, and it will be interesting to see whether Tottenham can secure the signature of the experienced French striker.
