Long-Distance Comprehensive Test Successfully Concluded for Yutong's IC12E Bus Model
Yutong Bus, a leading Chinese bus manufacturer, has made a significant stride in the electric vehicle industry. The company's new battery-electric intercity bus model, IC12E, has successfully completed the world's first long-distance full-scenario test.
The IC12E bus was initially unveiled at the UITP Summit in Germany. The trial, which took place across multiple European countries, aimed to verify the bus's performance and overall adaptability in real-world, working conditions.
The IC12E bus demonstrated its adaptability during the trial, travelling 327km from Copenhagen to Gothenburg without providing additional details about the charging or state of charge during this leg of the journey. Charging tests following the journey showed a state of charge increase from 13% to 99% following 100 minutes of charge time.
The bus also travelled 510 kilometers per full charge between Hamburg and Copenhagen, with its state of charge dropping to 28% from 99%. Upon arrival in Oslo, the IC12E bus consumed 926 kWh at an average of 0.7 kWh/km.
The journey spanned 1,272 kilometres across Germany, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. During this journey, the bus achieved a maximum gradient of 20% on uphill roads in Norway.
Yutong plans to continue exploring additional programmes to showcase its vehicular applications. The location for these further programmes has not been specified. The exploration of further programmes is in response to the successful trial of the IC12E bus.
Yutong is committed to advancing the electric vehicle industry and the IC12E bus is a testament to their dedication. The company aims to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible with electric vehicles and looks forward to further demonstrations of the IC12E bus's capabilities.
