Long-term reinforcement of Dr. Sara Kammann's medical practice
In the heart of Bünde, Dr. Sara Kammann has found a welcoming home at the practice of Dr. Diekmann and Dr. Hense. Joining the team as a "practice maker" under the "With Practice to Practice" program in January 2025, Dr. Kammann has since gained around 500 new patients and decided to stay in Bünde after half a year.
Before her tenure at Sedanstraße, the specific name of Dr. Kammann's mentor practice is not publicly available. However, it's known that she chose the practice of Dr. Diekmann and Dr. Hense due to a long-standing professional relationship.
The "With Practice to Practice" program enables doctors to gain experience in outpatient care and prepare for their entry into contract medical care. The KVWL covers the salary, and the district covers the employer's contributions for the "practice makers" in this program. During the funding period, the "practice makers" work in so-called mentor practices and attend accompanying seminars that provide them with important knowledge about practice management.
Dr. Kammann found these seminars particularly valuable, as they equipped her with the skills needed to navigate the intricacies of running a successful practice. She values the close relationship with patients that general practitioner care provides, which she has been able to nurture since becoming a general practitioner in 2018.
Landrat Jürgen Müller emphasises the importance of general practitioner care as a central pillar of their communal welfare provision. In a bid to strengthen medical care in the Herford district, the district council decided on the "Measures to Strengthen Medical Care in the Herford District" in 2019. This includes a grant of €25,000 for newly established, continued, or taken-over general practitioner practices.
Over 30 such grants have been paid out in various municipalities in the Herford district, totaling over €800,000. The Bünde practice network of Dr. Diekmann and Dr. Hense includes locations on Sedanstraße, Herforder Straße, and Wiehenstraße, with a team consisting of ten doctors and 22 medical assistants.
Dr. Marianne Grundl, the previous practice owner, is now working with Dr. Kammann at the Sedanstraße practice. With the success of Dr. Kammann's integration into the team, the "From Practice to Practice" funding program now also funds pediatricians, further bolstering the healthcare landscape in the district.
