Looking for a new home is Marvin, the odd four-legged individual of the month.
In the heart of Solingen, there's a unique canine waiting for his forever home. Marvin, a two-year-old mix of Presa Canario and Bordeaux Dogge, is a muscular, friendly, and calm dog who is currently residing at the Solingen Animal Shelter.
Marvin is an intelligent and quick learner, but he requires appropriate challenges and training due to his size and the confidence he carries. His past is uncertain, as he was found abandoned, likely due to his size or a diagnosis of hip dysplasia. Despite his challenges, Marvin has a calm nature, much like the Presa Canario, and a confident character, reminiscent of the Bordeaux Dogge.
Marvin is not a beginner's dog. He requires an experienced owner who is willing to set clear boundaries. Fortunately, Marvin is friendly and calm in the car, knows basic commands, and craves petting and cuddle time. He is also very people-oriented and seeks the company of his caretakers.
Marvin's future home should be on a single level, considering his size and his ongoing treatment for hip dysplasia. Next week, Marvin has an appointment at the clinic to consider new hip joints. In the meantime, short walks are better for his joints, and physiotherapy would be beneficial for his overall health.
Marvin is being treated by a veterinary therapist using a novel cell therapy called Fit-Organ, which is also used in humans. This treatment, along with a protein-rich diet to support his muscle development, is helping Marvin lead a more comfortable life.
If you're looking for a loyal companion, Marvin could be the perfect dog for you. However, it's important to note that his new dog companion should not be too small, as Marvin requires physical strength from his owner.
