In the heart of the 82nd International Film Festival of Venice, two captivating films premiered, with Luna Wedler taking centre stage in both. The Hungarian filmmaker Ildikó Enyedi directed "Silent Friend," which had its world premiere as the last film in the 2025 festival program, and the film adaptation of "22 Lanes."

Luna Wedler, born in Zurich, is currently a sought-after screen star. At the "Silent Friend" premiere, she donned a sleeveless, long-train dress in the style of a Vokuhila, with her hair styled sleekly into a bun. Léa Seydoux (40) and Johannes Hegemann were also in attendance.

"Silent Friend" tells the story of a Ginkgo tree that observes the changes in three human lives as a "silent witness." Set in the Old Botanical Garden in the university town of Marburg, the film offers a unique perspective on the human condition.

Meanwhile, in "22 Lanes," Luna Wedler plays the character Tilda, who works at a supermarket checkout. Tilda finds solace in swimming 22 lanes at the pool, a ritual she started after losing her older brother Viktor five years ago. Jannis Niewöhner plays Viktor in the film, and he appears at the pool.

In "22 Lanes," Tilda also cares for her younger sister Ida and her mother. Luna Wedler stars in the film alongside Jannis Niewöhner, bringing a poignant performance to the screen.

At a separate event, Luna Wedler wore a different look. For the Venice premiere of "22 Lanes," she paired her black bustier gown with matching pointed pumps, added a gold necklace, and sported red lipstick.

The director of "22 Lanes," no prior context was provided, and Ildikó Enyedi (69) were also present at the Venice premiere. The source of the information about the film's premiere and setting is Deadline. The 82nd International Film Festival of Venice concludes on September 6.
