Lush Fields Blooming Vibrant Rainbow Blossoms
In our city, the annual Blossom Strip Action has once again proven to be a resounding success. This year, a staggering 6500 square meters of land on farmers' fields were planted with a variety of blossoming plants, providing a vital habitat for insects and beetle species.
Mayor Claudio Provenzano expressed his gratitude to everyone who took part in the action, highlighting the importance of such initiatives for the environment. One such contributor was environmental officer Eric Bindhak, who made a small but significant donation towards the sowing of long-blooming seeds at the edges of agriculturally used areas.
The blossoming plants sown during the action included sunflowers, buckwheat, oil radish, and Alexandrian clover. These plants not only add a splash of colour to our landscape but also play a crucial role in supporting the local insect population.
Insects are at the beginning of the food chain, and their survival ensures the survival of many other living beings. By creating these blossom strips, we are not only helping to preserve our local insect population but also contributing to the overall health of our ecosystem.
