Merchants Manor in Falmouth Receives Multiple Accolades
Situated atop a hill overlooking Falmouth harbor, the boutique hotel Merchants Manor has been making waves in Cornwall's hospitality scene. Owners Nick Rudlin and Sioned Parry-Rudlin, who opened the hotel in 2012, have successfully transformed it into one of Falmouth's best offerings.
The hotel, which boasts 39 rooms, a spa, swimming pool, gym, and a Three AA Rosette restaurant named Rastella, has recently been awarded Four Silver Stars by AA Hotel & Hospitality Services. This prestigious recognition signifies a superior level of quality, hospitality, service, and cleanliness.
Robert Martin, an AA Inspector, found Merchants Manor to be a pleasure to visit, praising its exceptional standards. At the helm of Rastella is head chef Hylton Espey, who has been instrumental in the food offerings at the hotel.
Sioned Parry-Rudlin, the co-owner, is particularly proud of the quality of Merchants Manor's breakfast and the emphasis on local produce. The hotel's breakfast has been acknowledged for its focus on local ingredients and has received the Breakfast Award from the AA.
Rastella's menu, which ranges from freshly baked sourdough and smoked fish for breakfast to roast Cornish ducks and seafood at dinner, with a distinct flavour from its wood fired oven 'Bertha', has retained its 3 AA Rosette rating. Sioned Parry-Rudlin values this recognition and mentions that they are always striving for better in their food offerings.
In 2018, Merchants Manor added two luxury eco-friendly, self-catering residence apartments to its offerings. Sioned Parry-Rudlin is delighted with the new Silver Star rating and the recognition of the quality of the hotel.
