Luxury Sports Car Porsche Panamera Turbo S Officially Released
Porsche Unveils Powerful New Panamera Turbo S and Electrified Variant
Porsche is set to make a splash at the upcoming New York International Auto Show in March, as the German automaker has officially revealed the new Porsche Panamera Turbo S. The luxury sports sedan will go on sale in June, priced at £122,623.
The Panamera Turbo S boasts impressive performance, capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds. Under the hood, it features a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers an impressive 550HP (equivalent to 542BHP).
The new Panamera Turbo S also comes equipped with a host of performance-enhancing features, including PDCC (Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control), torque vectoring, and a limited slip differential at the rear. The Sport Chrono package will further tweak the engine and suspension when in Sport+ mode.
In addition to the standard Panamera Turbo S, Porsche has also unveiled an electrified variant, the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. This model features a plug-in hybrid powertrain that delivers a combined output of 690bhp. However, it should be noted that the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid does not share the same features as the standard Panamera Turbo S, such as PDCC, torque vectoring, limited slip differential at the rear, Sport Chrono, new 20'' Turbo II alloys, and a two-tone leather interior.
The Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is priced higher than the standard Panamera Turbo S, with a starting price of £140,130. Unfortunately, the electrified variant is not scheduled to go on sale in June or debut in New York in March.
The Panamera Turbo S was first revealed ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. It is the top model in the refreshed Panamera and Sport Turismo range, offering unparalleled power and performance. In fact, the Panamera Turbo S is more powerful than the 911 GT3 RS.
Porsche fans can look forward to seeing the new Panamera Turbo S in person at the brand's debut event in New York City next month. The electrified Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid will likely follow suit in due course.
