The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Apple prepares to release its new M4 MacBook Air models. According to recent reports, the new MacBook Airs could arrive as early as March, marking a significant update to the popular laptop line.

One of the most notable changes is the potential increase in RAM for the M4 MacBook Air. The base model is expected to include 16 GB of RAM, a feature that has remained consistent in the M4 MacBook Pro and could signal a trend for the MacBook Air models. This increased memory will help the M4 MacBook Air handle more AI processing tasks, aligning with Apple's push for AI capabilities, as seen in the latest updates to devices like the Vision Pro.

In terms of performance, the M4 MacBook Air is expected to be nearly as powerful as the M4 MacBook Pro. Leaked Geekbench scores for a "Mac16,12" model showed up with Metal graphics benchmark scores close to the M3 MacBook Air's performance. In benchmark tests, the M4 MacBook Air running macOS 15.2 scored 54,806, which is much closer to the iPad Pro M4's performance compared to the MacBook Pro M4's score of 57,449 on macOS 15.3.

Apple is also rumoured to be bringing Thunderbolt 5 connections to the cheaper, thinner MacBook Air models, a feature currently exclusive to the M4 MacBook Pro. The MacBook Air models may also allow users to use up to two external displays simultaneously with the lid open, unlike the M3 models.

Interestingly, in tests, the M3 MacBook Air performed practically on par with the 14-inch MacBook Pro M3. The M4 MacBook Air models, like the iPhone 16e, are expected to build upon this performance, offering a powerful and versatile laptop experience.

Apple has started preparing its marketing teams for the release of the M4 MacBook Air, suggesting that the release is imminent. The company is currently reducing the stock of the M3 MacBook Air in Apple stores, further fueling speculation about the upcoming release.

The M4 MacBook Air is expected to be released in 13 and 15-inch models, offering users a choice based on their needs. As always, Apple promises a sleek and stylish design, combined with the power and performance of the latest technology.

While Apple is pushing AI with the latest updates to its devices, it is yet to introduce a feature that significantly changes how users interact with their devices. The M4 MacBook Air models could potentially be the platform for this breakthrough, offering a glimpse into the future of personal computing.

Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the release of the M4 MacBook Air.
