Mahindra Reveals Vision.X Concept - Could it be the Upcoming XUV 3XO?

Mahindra, an Indian automobile manufacturer, has unveiled the Vision.X, a new subcompact SUV concept, on India's 79th Independence Day. The Vision.X is one of four new SUV concepts introduced by Mahindra, with the Vision.T being another notable addition.

The Vision.X, set to go on sale from 2027 onwards and up to 2030, will compete with popular models such as the Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. This newcomer will offer a unique design language, steering clear from the boxy, off-roader-like designs commonly seen in the segment.

The Vision.X will be based on the new nu_iQ platform, sharing this foundation with the Vision.S, Vision.T, and Vision.SXT. It will also boast a wheelbase of 2665 mm and will be approximately 3990 mm in length. The Vision.X could potentially be the most affordable car out of the four showcased at the Freedom_NU event.

The exterior design of the Vision.X is inspired by fighter jets, featuring slim C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), squarish LED headlamps, a large grille with an X-shaped motif, 19-inch alloy wheels, connected LED taillamps, and transparent fins on the spoiler. The roofline is coupe-like, adding a touch of elegance to the overall design.

Inside, the dashboard will feature a minimalist design, with the expectation of two large screens - one for the infotainment system and one for the instrument cluster.

The Vision.X will support multiple powertrains, including Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) running on petrol and diesel, as well as Electric Vehicles (EV). This versatility will allow the Vision.X to cater to a wide range of consumers, in line with the growing demand for sustainable transportation options.

Manufacturing of the Vision.X will take place at Mahindra's Chakan plant in Pune, India. If the Vision.X becomes a production model, it could potentially be the next generation of the Mahindra XUV 3XO.

While the specifics of the Vision.X's cabin features are yet to be revealed, the anticipation for this innovative subcompact SUV is already high. The Vision.X, along with other Vision concepts, will be India-first global SUVs, marking a significant step forward in Mahindra's automotive journey.

As of now, the search results do not provide the name of the development chief or the main person responsible for the development of the Mahindra Vision.X concept SUV. Nevertheless, the Vision.X promises to be an exciting addition to the Indian automotive market.
