Major Collision Involving Five Vehicles Results in Five Injuries: Road Blocked for an Hour Following Open-air Flip
In a significant incident on Wednesday evening, an accident occurred on Autobahn 3 near Seligenstadt. The incident involved an illegal overtaking maneuver, resulting in a collision between an E-class and a G-class vehicle.
According to preliminary reports, the E-class driver allegedly switched lanes illegally and overtook two vehicles on the hard shoulder. As a result, the E-class collided with the G-class, which then flipped over and came to rest on the hard shoulder. The impact was so severe that a large piece of concrete broke off and was thrown several meters due to the collision against the median barrier.
Unfortunately, debris from the accident also damaged a following C-class. As a result, five people sustained slight injuries. High property damage occurred, including damage to five vehicles and several elements of the concrete barrier.

The incident is being taken very seriously, and a lengthy road closure was necessary due to the accident. The lane in the direction of Würzburg was fully closed for accident investigation, vehicle recovery, and road cleaning until around 1:30 AM.
