Major Event Makes Debut in Texas with a Guaranteed $2 Million Prize at The Lodge
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is set to make its debut in Texas with a bang, as The Lodge Card Club in Round Rock hosts the WPT Prime Festival from September 28 to October 13, 2025. The highlight of the festival is the WPT Prime Lodge Championship, a $1,100 buy-in event with a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million.
The festival marks the first time the WPT has ventured into the Lone Star State. The Lodge Card Club, the largest poker room in Central Texas, was acquired by poker professionals Doug Polk, Brad Owen, and Andrew Neeme in 2022. Recently, Nikhil "Nik Airball" Arcot and Ethan "Rampage" Yau have joined as investors in The Lodge Card Club, adding to the excitement of the upcoming event.
The WPT Prime Lodge Championship will culminate on Day 2 on October 7, following five Day 1 flights. The event will award points towards the WPT Player of the Year leaderboard, adding an extra layer of competition to the tournament.
In addition to the main event, the WPT series-wide guarantee is at least $2 million, with over $2 million in prizes guaranteed across more than 50 events. Some of the other tournaments include the $100-$500 Meet-Up Game, the Texas Ladies Championship, the "Half Milly" tournament with a $500,000 guarantee, the $300 WPT Warm-Up, the $200 Big-O Championship, the $300 Texas Seniors Championship, a $400 PLO event, the $600 Quarter Million, the $1,100 PLO Hundred Grand, the $300 WPT Wildcard Mystery Bounty, and the $2,000 WPT Prime High Roller.
The WPT Prime Lodge Championship will also feature daily freerolls, satellites, and turbos, offering players various opportunities to qualify for the main event. Satellites throughout the festival offer players chances to qualify for as low as $30. One of the starting flights for the WPT Prime Lodge Championship is a turbo option, adding an extra twist to the tournament.
