Malaysia exceeds trade objective for Osaka Expo 2025 with RM15.6 billion in agreements.

The Malaysia Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, has been a beacon of global attention, attracting over 2.8 million visitors, nearly double its original target of 1.5 million. This impressive feat was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who also highlighted the pavilion's success in driving potential trade and investment of approximately RM15.6 billion, exceeding the original target of RM13 billion.

The pavilion, a testament to Malaysia's rich culture and heritage, boasts a bamboo facade inspired by interwoven songket fabric. At night, it casts an ethereal glow, symbolizing unity and diversity. The interior design features Malaysian wood and natural tones, connecting the nation's landscapes with shared traditions of Japan.

The success of the Malaysia Pavilion is driven by a whole-of-government approach, reflecting Malaysia's National Industrial Master Plan 2030 and the Madani Economy framework. The initiatives at the pavilion are aligned with national policies, including the Green Investment Strategy (GIS) and the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS).

The pavilion has been a hub of activity, hosting over 208 business programs and 98 non-business activities. Daily cultural performances, business programs, and live culinary showcases, including the famous 'roti canai', have captivated visitors. The specific industry weeks highlight key sectors such as green energy, halal innovation, digital transformation, and advanced manufacturing.

Fadillah said Malaysia's ambition at Expo 2025 is to translate synergy into sustainable outcomes and position the nation to attract investments, strengthen key industries, and integrate Malaysian businesses with global supply chains. The achievement is 120% of the baseline goal, indicating Malaysia's growing global appeal and the strength of its international partnerships.

In a speech read by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, Fadillah invited everyone to make the most of the remaining opportunity to connect with Malaysia and discover the charm of the pavilion as Expo 2025 Osaka nears its end in 35 days. The Malaysia Pavilion has also been nominated for the Best International Gourmet Pavilion.

Expo 2025 Osaka, themed 'Designing Future Society for Our Lives', is a six-month event running from April 13 to October 13 on the man-made island of Yumeshima in Osaka. The event showcases innovative ideas, technologies, and a diverse range of exhibits and events.

As Expo 2025 Osaka draws to a close, the Malaysia Pavilion continues to attract global attention through its curated industry weeks, blending Malaysia's people, culture, and heritage into a compelling story of harmony.
