Manchester United defender set for temporary departure to secure increased playing time, per report

Manchester United's young defender, Harry Amass, is set to gain valuable first-team experience after sealing a loan move to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday. The 18-year-old, who can play at full-back and wing-back positions, has been allowed to leave the club on loan for development.

Amass, who is listed as a first-team player on Manchester United's official website, made his first-team debut against Leicester City last season and didn't look out of place in his Premier League debut. However, with no available left-back for a sustained period, Amass was not given an opportunity to showcase his abilities further.

The academy staff at Manchester United are well-liked by Amass, and they believe a loan spell could be beneficial for him to play regular football. Jonny Evans, Manchester United's loans manager, will be monitoring Amass's development closely.

Amass's departure from Old Trafford comes at a time when Manchester United are expected to see several high-profile exits before the transfer deadline. Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho, and Antony are all tipped to leave the club, potentially opening up more opportunities for academy graduates like Amass.

In other news, Manchester United posted their first win of the new Premier League campaign against Burnley. Bruno Fernandes scored the winning goal from the spot in injury time, securing all three points for the Red Devils. Elsewhere, Bryan Mbeumo also found the back of the net for Manchester United against Burnley, while Amass's new team, Sheffield Wednesday, are currently managed by Henrik Pedersen.

As Amass prepares to join Sheffield Wednesday, he will be hoping to emulate the success of other Manchester United academy graduates who have thrived on loan spells, such as Marcus Rashford at Bolton Wanderers, Jesse Lingard at Birmingham City, and Angel Gomes at Boavista.

With Amass's departure, Manchester United continue to demonstrate their commitment to nurturing young talent and providing them with opportunities to grow and develop, both at the club and on loan.
