Massive Digital Screen for Minor League Baseball Team, Jumbo Shrimp
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp have introduced a significant upgrade to the visual experience at their home stadium, 121 Financial Ballpark. The new video display system, provided by industry leader Daktronics, is set to enhance the game-day experience for fans during the upcoming 2024 baseball season and beyond.
This marks the first time in the ballpark's history that ribbon displays have been added. Each ribbon board measures approximately 3x100 feet, providing a wider coverage of dynamic content. Two ribbon boards have been installed along the seating fascia, complementing the main video board. All three displays feature 10-millimeter pixel spacing for crystal-clear visuals.
The new video display, measuring 36x60 feet, is 32% larger than the previous one. This expanded screen will allow for the sharing of additional stats and information, as well as the ability to show live video, instant replays, statistics, game information, graphics, animations, or sponsorship messages.
In collaboration with the Jumbo Shrimp, the City of Jacksonville, and ASM Global, Daktronics has ensured that the new video display features environmental protection for operation in the Florida outdoors. The new system is also capable of variable content zoning, enabling more dynamic and engaging content for fans.
Ken Babby, CEO and owner of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, expressed his excitement about the upgraded visual experience, stating that working with Daktronics was great and they are the industry leader. He believes the new video display system will provide an engaging game-day experience for fans.
To top it off, Daktronics Creative Services will produce and deliver a digital content package for the displays, ensuring a seamless and visually stunning presentation of information throughout the ballpark. The project has now been completed, and fans can look forward to a whole new level of excitement during their visits to 121 Financial Ballpark.
