Matches of the Seventh Day at the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament

The U.S. Open kicked off under clear skies with a temperature of around 21 degrees Celsius (70 degrees Fahrenheit). The Order of Play on Saturday promises several high-profile matches, including Osaka vs. Kasatkina and Gauff vs. Frech, among others.

In the third round, some intriguing contests unfolded. Naomi Osaka, a four-time Grand Slam winner, advanced to the last 16 for the first time in four years, defeating Daria Kasatkina 6-0 4-6 6-3. This sets up an exciting encounter between Osaka and Kasatkina in the next round.

Coco Gauff, the French Open champion, also reached the last 16 with a 6-3 6-1 win over Magdalena Frech. In their previous encounter at the US Open last year, Osaka defeated Gauff in the round of 16 with a clear score of 6-3, 6-2. Gauff struggled with many unforced errors and could not find her rhythm.

Karolina Muchova, the 11th seed, fought back from losing the first set to beat compatriot Linda Noskova 6-7(5) 6-4 6-2 in the third round.

Lorenzo Musetti, the 10th seed and Paris Olympic bronze medallist, reached the last 16 of the U.S. Open for the first time. His opponent, Flavio Cobolli, retired due to injury while trailing 6-3 6-2 2-0.

Tommy Paul is scheduled to play Alexander Bublik, while Jannik Sinner and Denis Shapovalov are set to compete in a fourth-round match.

Beatriz Haddad Maia and Maria Sakkari, and Iga Swiatek and Anna Kalinskaya are also scheduled to play each other in the fourth round.

The U.S. Open continues to deliver exciting matches, with many top players advancing to the next rounds. Stay tuned for more updates!
