Vice Media Group Expands Creative Capabilities with Acquisition of Pltfrmr

In a strategic move to broaden its creative horizons, Vice Media Group (VMG) has finalised the acquisition of creative consultancy Pltfrmr. This merger will see Pltfrmr merged with VMG's in-house creative agency, Virtue.

The leadership structure of Virtue has been modified with the addition of Chris Garbutt and Colin Mitchell, co-founders of Pltfrmr. Chris Garbutt will take on the role of co-president and chief creative officer of Virtue within VMG, while Colin Mitchell will become co-president and chief innovation officer.

Prior to their involvement with Pltfrmr, both Garbutt and Mitchell held executive roles at Vice Media Group. Garbutt currently serves as Chief Content Officer, and Mitchell as Chief Financial Officer.

Rob Newlan, a former Facebook executive, will also join the leadership team. Newlan, who previously held the position of senior vice president, global for McDonald's, will oversee the expansion of Virtue's international reach. He will take on the role of global chief operating officer and head of Europe and AMEA for Virtue.

Previously, Newlan served as global president at Virtue. Prior to that, he was senior vice president, global for McDonald's.

With this acquisition, Pltfrmr is now part of Vice Media Group, marking a significant step in VMG's growth and creative expansion. The merged entity, including Pltfrmr and Virtue, will operate under VMG, bringing together a powerful combination of creative talent and strategic expertise.
