Mega Millions Jackpot Hits $520 Million for Friday's Drawing
The Mega Millions jackpot has reached an unprecedented $520 million for the upcoming drawing on Friday, October 3, 2025. This marks the first time this year that the jackpot has surpassed the half-billion-dollar mark.
The last Mega Millions jackpot was won just over three months ago in Virginia on June 27, 2025, for $348 million. Before that, an Ohio player won $112 million on April 18, 2025. This Friday's drawing offers an estimated cash option of $240.1 million.
So far in 2025, only four Mega Millions jackpots have been won. The largest of these was $349 million, won by an Illinois player on March 25, 2025. The first jackpot of the year was claimed in Arizona on January 17, 2025, for $112 million. Since then, no jackpots were won from January 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, including the drawing on September 30, 2025.
Since changes to the Mega Millions game in April, more than 12.9 million winning tickets across all non-jackpot tiers have brought in over $318 million in winnings. Tuesday's drawing alone produced nearly 331,000 winning tickets across all prize tiers, despite nobody matching all the winning numbers.
