Introducing the New Festool HLC 82: A Revolutionary Cordless Planer
Prepare for a game-changer in the world of woodworking, as Festool unveils its latest innovation – the HLC 82. Scheduled to hit the market in October 2025, this cordless planer is set to redefine precision, efficiency, and versatility.
At the heart of the HLC 82 lies a brushless EC-TEC motor, delivering consistent high throughput power that ensures smooth and efficient operation. This motor not only extends the lifespan of the device but also guarantees a reliable performance every time.
The HLC 82 boasts a planer width of 82 mm and a maximum fold depth of 25 mm, making it ideal for a wide range of applications. Even when using the fold depth stop, a maximum fold depth of 23 mm is maintained, providing the necessary flexibility for various projects.
One of the standout features of the HLC 82 is its newly developed chamfering sole. This innovative design facilitates precise and fast chamfering of long beams or edge woods, ensuring a uniform, fine surface without visible planer marks. The chamfering sole's wide, stable support surface ensures a secure hold and even gliding, enhancing the overall user experience.
The HLC 82 is equipped with two dust extraction channels. One longer channel is designed for use with a vacuum cleaner, while the shorter one caters to applications with high chip removal. This dual dust extraction system ensures a clean and efficient work environment.
The ergonomically shaped handle of the HLC 82 features a soft grip surface, ensuring comfortable handling even during extended periods of use. The device also comes with a parallel stop that can be mounted on the side for accurate guidance when working on edges.
The spiral blade with a pulling cut approaches diagonally and gently peels off the wood, further enhancing the quality of the finished product. The depth of cut adjustment ranges from 0 to 2.5 mm, allowing for precise adjustment during work.
Safety is paramount in the design of the HLC 82. It features a quick brake that stops the device in less than two seconds, reducing the risk of accidents. Moreover, the HLC 82 is compatible with all Festool 18-volt battery packs, offering flexibility and convenience.
The HLC 82 is a tool designed for adjustment work on construction sites and in workshops. It has undergone rigorous testing by the trade before market launch, ensuring it meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
Festool will be exhibiting the HLC 82 at the NordBau as a co-exhibitor with Friedrich Niemann GmbH & Co. KG, North Entrance - N231, Kieler Straße. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by and experience the HLC 82 for yourself.
Pordi Kailer, CEO of Festool, is excited about the upcoming release. The HLC 82 will be available in November, marking another milestone in Festool's commitment to innovation and excellence in the woodworking industry.
