The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has taken a firm stand against 13 rogue online casinos that have been operating illegally in the state. These operators, including Captain Jack Casino, Casino Brango, and Silver Oak Casino, were issuing cease-and-desist orders left, right, and center on April 9, 2025. Other offenders on the list included Ducky Luck Casino, El Royale Casino, Jazz Casino, Looselines, Planet 7 Casino, Red Dog Casino, Royal Oak Casino, Skybook, and Slots of Vegas [1][5].

Moreover, MGCB took action against Lucky Tiger Casino and Rich Palms Casino for their illegal activities in the Wolverine State [4]. Operating from jurisdictions such as Curacao, Costa Rica, and the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, these sites were targeting Michigan residents unlawfully. Such practices jeopardized Michigan residents, leaving them vulnerable to financial risks [1][5].

Executive Director of the MGCB, Henry Williams, declared a firm stance against such illegal gambling operations:

Michigan's robust internet gaming regulatory framework requires all online gambling operators serving Michigan residents to be licensed by the MGCB. Unlicensed operators face severe penalties, including fines up to $100,000 and imprisonment for ten years under Michigan's gaming laws [4]. Unauthorized gambling activities are also prohibited under the Michigan Penal Code.

The MGCB employs a zero-tolerance approach to illegal gambling and has been working tirelessly to enforce Michigan's gaming laws strictly against unlicensed operators [4]. MGCB's actions aim to protect Michigan residents, uphold the integrity of the state's licensed gaming industry, and ensure all online gambling activities in Michigan comply with established security, fairness, and payment processing standards [1][5].

Recently, MGCB has cracked down on several unlawful operators, adding at least 15 unregulated gambling sites to the banned list, including the aforementioned sites and 11 others, such as Bet Big Dollar Casino, Blood Moon Casino, and Spinfinity Casino [1][5]. The first regulated online casino sites were launched in Michigan in January 2021, providing a legal and secure platform for Michigan residents to enjoy online casinos and sports betting.
