ANS Expands Capabilities with Acquisition of Makutu
Digital transformation firm ANS has announced the acquisition of Makutu, a Derby-based consultancy specializing in data platforms, AI, and IoT. This latest move strengthens ANS's position to help organizations across the UK prepare for the future.
Makutu, founded in 2020, has quickly made a name for itself in the industry, earning a spot in Megabuyte's top five emerging players earlier this year. The consultancy boasts a team of 25 data architects, engineers, and AI experts, and their 'Microsoft-first' approach aligns with ANS's long-standing partnership with Microsoft.
ANS, which employs over 650 people, including more than 100 certified Microsoft specialists and four Most Valuable Professionals, stands to benefit greatly from Makutu's expertise. Makutu's services include Microsoft Fabric readiness, OneLake migration, predictive analytics, real-time IoT platforms, and they serve clients in local government, housing, utilities, and retail.
Richard Thompson, CEO at ANS, stated that the acquisition of Makutu will help accelerate their mission to make technology accessible and impactful for all organizations. The acquisition is backed by Inflexion and Barings, two prominent investment firms. This move marks ANS's second acquisition in recent times, following their acquisition of Dynamics 365 specialist Preact in 2022.
