In the latest development, security forces in Manipur have made four arrests as part of ongoing operations. Two women cadres of the banned People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Prepak) were arrested in Imphal East district. A self-styled lance corporal of the United People's Party of Kangleipak (UPPK), a banned outfit, was also apprehended in the same district.
Recovered items included demand letters belonging to various proscribed organizations. Fifteen such demand letters, belonging to Prepak, were seized during the arrests.
In addition, two additional members of Prepak (Pro) were arrested in Kakching and Bishnupur districts. The arrested militants were allegedly involved in extortion activities across various districts in Manipur.
