Military Collaboration Exercises Held in Herne
Planned Emergency Exercise on St. Elisabeth Group Campus, Herne
On September 6, 2025, a significant emergency exercise will take place on the campus of the St. Elisabeth Group at Widumer Straße in Herne. This exercise has been meticulously planned and will involve several key partners, including the Herne Fire Department, Herne Police, emergency services, the St. Elisabeth Group, Marien Hospital Herne, and Ruhr University Bochum.
The exercise aims to simulate an emergency situation, providing an opportunity for all involved forces to practice and refine their responses in a realistic setting. To enhance realism, many participants will be made up as injured or affected persons.

On the day of the exercise, a press officer from the fire department and the St. Elisabeth Group will be available at the campus entrance on Josef-Prenger-Straße from 10:30 a.m. for press representatives. From 11 a.m., a large number of emergency vehicles from the police, fire department, and rescue services will approach the exercise site with special rights. For the safety and efficiency of the exercise, Widumer Straße will be temporarily closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to approximately 4 p.m.
Regular exercises are of great importance and significance for all involved forces, ensuring they are prepared to respond effectively in real-life emergency situations. The exercise on September 6 is a testament to the commitment of all partners to maintaining a high level of readiness and collaboration.
