Army's Non-Commissioned Officer School to Conduct Training Exercises in Schmalkalden-Meiningen District

The Army's Non-Commissioned Officer School, based at the Karl-Günther Barracks in Sondershausen, has announced two training exercises scheduled for September 9 and September 15, 2025. Both exercises will take place in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district.

On September 9, 2025, the 17th Company of Training Group C at the Army's Non-Commissioned Officer School will conduct an orienteering march in the Oberhof area. This training is part of the individual fighter training for the company. The march will start at 8:30 AM and is expected to end at 7:30 PM. The commander's identity for this exercise is not publicly available information.

Departure after the September 9 orienteering march will be by 9:00 PM. The exercise will involve two soldiers and one motorcycle, and it will be registered with the Ordnance and Traffic Department of the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district.

On September 15, 2025, the same company will train again in the Brotterode-Trusetal and Floh-Seligenthal areas, with a focus on the Kleinschmalkalden region. The training on this day will also be conducted in the district. The orienteering march on September 15, 2025, will start at 8:30 AM and end at 7:30 PM. The arrival time for this march is 7:00 AM, and departure will be by 9:00 PM on the same day. Like the September 9 exercise, this training will also involve two soldiers and one motorcycle and will be registered with the Ordnance and Traffic Department of the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district.

Both orienteering marches will take place at the Karl-Günther Barracks in Sondershausen. These training exercises are aimed at honing the skills of the Non-Commissioned Officers and preparing them for various military operations.
