Adrian Thielen Returns Home to the Minnesota Vikings

After a brief stint with the Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings legend Adrian Thielen is set to return to his home team. Thielen, who spent nine seasons with the Vikings, expressed his excitement about the move in a recent interview.

In 2023, Thielen was released by the Vikings and signed a three-year, $25 million deal with the Panthers. However, the allure of returning to his home team proved too strong, and Thielen was selected by the Vikings in the 2026 NFL Draft. The Vikings received Thielen along with a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick from the Panthers, while Carolina got a 2026 fifth-round pick in the trade deal.

Thielen has had a successful career with the Vikings, ranking third all-time in team receptions behind Cris Carter and Randy Moss. Across his nine seasons with the team, he made 534 catches for 6,682 yards and 55 touchdowns.

Thielen credits Vikings coach Mike Zimmer with prolonging his career, and he said he would not be where he is today without Zimmer's trust and opportunities. In the Panthers, Thielen became a trusted target for quarterback Bryce Young, but he is looking forward to taking the field once more in purple when the Vikings open their season against the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football on September 8.

Thielen's return to the Vikings is sure to be a welcome sight for fans, who have missed his electrifying plays and consistent production. With Thielen back in the lineup, the Vikings are poised to make a strong run in the 2026 season.
