In the heart of Munich, the new dating show "City of Love" is set to premiere on Tuesday, September 2nd, at 8:15 PM on hr. Produced by ARD broadcasters SWR and hr, this unique series promises a slow-paced, sightseeing-centric approach to finding love.

Each episode of "City of Love" sends two single pairs on a rickshaw city tour, exploring off-the-beaten-track locations. The pairs are tasked with challenges designed to create tension and butterflies, such as snacking on white sausages at Viktualienmarkt, taking a tourist photo at Marienplatz with a Seppl hat and gingerbread heart, and even participating in a zip line activity at the Olympiapark.

The premise of the show is simple: two participants, each with two children, are paired up and given the opportunity to get to know each other while experiencing the charm of Munich. In the premiere episode, we meet Laura (37) and Andreas (40), both hoping for new love.

Laura and Andreas' journey takes them to "The Crazy Ice Cream Maker", where they create a champagne-mango-chili ice cream. However, Laura seems a bit disappointed when Andreas doesn't show up at the meeting point. The tension is palpable, but the show's storytelling style remains mild, avoiding the drama often associated with dating shows.

Former "Temptation Island" host Lola Weippert (29) is on board the show, praising Laura's courage. Laura, despite feeling queasy about the zip line, jumps nonetheless. The show's protagonists are too likable and "normal", the challenges too tame, and the storytelling style too mild for those looking for something to get riled up and gossip about.

However, for those seeking something pleasant to unwind and enjoy, "City of Love" is the perfect choice. At the end of each episode, the pairs have the option to decide separately whether they want to see their counterpart again. Those who reciprocate receive a voucher for a candlelight dinner and a love lock to attach on the bridge.

Matthew and Martha, another pair in the show, complete a small course in hot rods with their eyes covered and are "forced" to make a marriage proposal with an apple ring, much to Matthew's surprise.

All episodes of "City of Love" are already available in the ARD media library, allowing viewers to catch up before the premiere or watch at their leisure. So, if you're looking for a light-hearted, romantic journey through Munich, tune in to "City of Love" on hr.
