MIT Gathering: Spending the Night Engaged in Dance
Last Saturday evening, MIT's Killian Court was transformed into a vibrant nightclub lounge and mega DJ show, surprising the community with an unexpected celebration.
The dance floor at Killian Court was packed with students and staff, grooving to the rhythm of the music. The night was filled with a variety of genres, from jazz and reggae to salsa, R&B, and more. Live bands played at Kresge Oval and the ice rink, adding to the festive atmosphere.
President Reif took to the stage to express his gratitude to the enormous team that made the festivities possible. He also thanked the community for attending and making the night a memorable one.
The celebration didn't stop at Killian Court. Multiple locations across campus hosted dancing and music events, ensuring there was something for everyone. The Johnson Ice Rink, for instance, played host to an a cappella showcase by MIT student groups.
Meanwhile, The Boardwalk Arcade in Rockwell Cage played a mix of 60s, 70s, and 80s tunes, providing a nostalgic backdrop for those who wanted a blast from the past.
Refreshing drinks were available all night long for party-goers, ensuring they stayed energised to dance the night away.
Unfortunately, there is no information available about which group organised the surprise party. Regardless, the community came together to enjoy the festivities, making it a night to remember at MIT.
