Mixed weather kicks off the new week, from sunshine to heavy downpours
In the industrial city of Essen, meteorologist Ines von Hollen from the German Weather Service (DWD) delivered her forecast for North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) on Monday evening.
The weather in NRW is set to offer a varied start to the new week. While the eastern parts of the region will remain largely dry overnight into Monday, the western parts are expected to experience heavy rain. Ines von Hollen reported that the amount of rain in these western areas could reach up to 25 liters per square meter.
Despite the rain, the weather includes clear blue skies with sunshine, and temperatures will range from 20 to 24 degrees Celsius. However, dark clouds with showers and thunderstorms are also expected, particularly overnight into Monday in parts of the west in NRW.
The weather pattern affects the entire country of NRW, but the forecast does not specify the exact days with thunderstorms or sunshine. Additionally, it does not mention any specific regions within NRW with different weather patterns or indicate any extreme temperatures. The temperature range is until mid-week.
Ines von Hollen, a meteorologist from the DWD in Essen, shared the forecast without specifying the exact days when the heavy rain will occur in the western parts of NRW. Nonetheless, residents of the region are advised to stay tuned for updates and prepare for potential weather changes.
As the week progresses, it seems that NRW will experience a mix of sunshine and showers, with the possibility of thunderstorms. Residents are encouraged to monitor the weather forecast closely and stay safe during any adverse weather conditions.
