Mobile Surveillance for Speed Violations: Sites Revealed

In the coming week, the city of Bergisch Gladbach will be conducting mobile speed checks at various locations. The specific dates and times for these checks have not been announced yet, but residents can expect them to take place from Monday, August 18, to Friday, August 23, 2025.

According to the amended administrative regulation on § 48 Abs. 2 of the Ordnungsbehördengesetz (OBG), which was enforced by the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government NRW on July 15, 2013, the obligation to publish measurement points applies to locations that are to be published daily. However, the exact measurement times are not specified in the regulation.

The city of Bergisch Gladbach uses the municipal internet pages as a suitable medium to publish the planned measurement points of the speed monitoring carried out by the municipality on a weekly basis. For the most up-to-date information on the locations of the speed checks, residents can visit https://www.rbk-direkt.de/Dienstleistung.aspx?dlid=3741.

On Saturday, August 16, mobile speed checks will take place at Mutzer Straße and In der Schlade. The following day, on Sunday, August 17, no speed checks are scheduled. On Monday, August 18, the checks will take place at In der Auen and Hufer Weg. On Tuesday, August 19, the locations are Bruderstraße, Ommerbornstraße, and Am Milchbornbach. On Wednesday, August 20, the checks will be carried out at Kardinal-Schulte-Straße, Jägerstraße, and Saaler Straße. On Thursday, August 21, the locations are Büschemerstraße, Katterbachstraße, and Ferrenbergstraße. On Friday, August 22, the checks will take place at Reuterstraße, Dellbrücker Straße, and Im Hilgersfeld. On Saturday, August 23, the checks will again take place at Mutzer Straße and In der Schlade.

It is worth noting that deviations from the planned mobile speed check locations may occur due to unforeseen current traffic situations. The police authority also carries out its own checks, and information on these can be found on the police's internet pages.

The new regulation emphasizes the importance of transparency, publication, and more controls in bringing about positive behavioral changes. Speed monitoring measures for traffic safety are to be ensured as a priority in accordance with the available resources. The regulation does not specify the exact measurement times for the published locations.
