Lucy Markovic, a renowned Australian model who graced the runways of prestigious fashion brands worldwide, has sadly passed away at the age of 27. Her passing was confirmed by her partner on Instagram on April 11, 2025.
Markovic's career in the fashion industry was nothing short of remarkable. She walked for brands such as Versace, Armani, Givenchy, Prada, Miu Miu, and Chanel, participating in international runway shows. Her radiant light and captivating smile made her a favourite among fashion enthusiasts.
Elite Model Management NYC, Markovic's model agency, paid tribute to her on Instagram, describing her as a "radiant light" with "incredibly dry humor." They also acknowledged her passing, expressing their deep sorrow at her loss.
Donatella Versace, the designer of the iconic brand, also wrote a tribute for Markovic on Instagram, expressing her deep sorrow at the model's passing.
Markovic's career began in 2015 when she gained fame as the runner-up of the ninth season of "Australia's Next Top Model." Her career continued to flourish, and she was recognised as a top model in the international fashion world.
Unfortunately, Markovic had been bravely battling a rare vascular disease for four years. In early April 2025, she underwent surgery to address her condition, but her health deteriorated despite the surgery. Her cause of death was complications from a rare vascular disease called arteriovenous malformation (AVM) in the brain.
Markovic's personality was described as having "incredibly dry humor" by Elite NYC. She was known for lighting up every room with her smile and for her infectious laughter. Her passing has left a void in the fashion industry and in the hearts of her fans and friends.
