The German Heritage Foundation invites you to participate in the Day of Open Monuments 2025, the largest cultural event in Germany, taking place on September 14, 2025. This annual event is Germany's contribution to the European Heritage Days and aims to bring the topic of cultural heritage to the centre of society.
The Day of Open Monuments offers over 9,000 events in around 6,000 monuments, making mainly buildings accessible that are otherwise closed to visitors. This year's theme is "Worthwhile: priceless or irreplaceable?", encouraging reflection on the significance and value of our cultural heritage.
The event is coordinated nationwide by the German Heritage Foundation (DSD), which is under the patronage of the Federal President. The team leader for the Day of Open Monuments in 2025 is Dr. Wolfram Seibert, head of the local advisory board in Bremen.
