Motor Race Witnesses and Victims in Schönbuch Speak Out Despite Ban

A high-speed motorcycle chase through the streets of Ludwigsburg, Germany, on July 1, 2025, has resulted in a 25-year-old suspect facing charges of driving without a license and operating a vehicle without permission.

The incident began when a patrol unit from Böblingen Police Station, located in Weil im Schönbuch, spotted an oncoming motorcyclist on Arthur-Heck-Straße. The officers decided to turn around for a traffic stop, but the motorcyclist attempted to evade the authorities, leading to a chase.

The chase led through several streets, including Bahnhofstraße, Brückenstraße, Schulstraße, Hauptstraße, Dettenhäuser Straße, and Kirchstraße, before ending in Dettenhausen. During the chase, the suspect temporarily escaped by driving over a green area near a school.

Subsequent investigations led to the discovery of a witness who had seen the motorcycle earlier. Further inquiries led to the home of the 25-year-old in Dettenhausen, where the motorcycle was found parked, and the suspect was located.

The head of the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters, Polizeidirektor Stefan Weber, mentioned in a message that his team may have additional information regarding the 25-year-old suspect and the motorcycle involved in the incident. Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters can be contacted for further inquiries at 07141 18-8777 or via email at [email protected]. The headquarters' website is www.polizei-bw.de/.

Böblingen Police Station is also seeking witnesses and potential victims who may have been endangered by the 25-year-old's driving. Contact details for reporting are 07031 13-2500 or [email protected].

It is possible that Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters will be involved in the ongoing investigation and prosecution of the 25-year-old suspect. Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters is a separate entity from Böblingen Police Station.

The suspect could not produce a valid driver's license during the incident. The charges against the 25-year-old now include driving without a license and operating a vehicle without permission.
