Motorcycle Accident Occurs on OilySurface

An oil spill was reported on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, on the B 55 near the entrance of the L856 (Hirschberger Weg) in Meschede, Germany. The spill, approximately 3 meters wide and 350 meters long, was heading towards Meschede.

The nature of the spilled material suggests it could be from a truck or a trailer. A 46-year-old man from Warstein suffered minor injuries after he slipped on his motorcycle for over 90 meters on the asphalt and then into the ditch due to the slippery surface.

The Kreispolizeibehörde Hochsauerlandkreis has confirmed that the lane was continuously wet and slippery due to the oil spill. However, it is unlikely that a car caused the oil spill.

According to the police, the likely cause of the oil spill was a 30-year-old female driver who lost control of her car due to a wasp inside the vehicle and collided with seven fence posts near Bilten on August 25, 2025. The vehicle's oil pan was ruptured, leading to the oil spill. The culprit of the oil spill has not been identified yet.

A specialized company has been commissioned to clean the road. Witnesses who have information about the culprit are asked to contact the police station in Meschede by phone at 0291-90200. For press inquiries, contact Benedikt Teutenberg at the Circular Police Department Hochsauerlandkreis. His contact details are: Telephone: 0291-90200-1140, Email: [email protected].
