In the realm of Bollywood, the cross-cultural rom-com "Param Sundari" has been making waves, with its lead actors Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor captivating audiences. The film, however, had a modest start on its opening day, grossing Rs 7.25 crore.
However, on Day 2, the tide seemed to turn in favour of "Param Sundari". The movie grossed a significant Rs 16.25 crore, marking a substantial increase from its Saturday collection of Rs 9 crore. The occupancy rates also soared, nearing 18.13% overall, with high popularity in night shows.
The film's performance was particularly strong in cities like Bengaluru and Chennai, where the occupancy rates improved compared to Day 1. However, the lowest occupancy rates remained in Surat.
Despite comparisons to films like Chennai Express and 2 States, "Param Sundari" received positive comments from the audience, with some praising it as a "breezy rom-com with the right mix of fun & feel-good, no boring moments."
The musical number 'Pardesiya' from the film received lauds from the audience, yet the film as a whole faced criticism on social media, with reviewers citing Tushar Jalota's direction as shooting scenes like an influencer who clicks photos for social media posts. The review also mentioned bland beauty masquerading as gorgeous eye candy.
