The Metropolitan Opera is set to captivate audiences once again with its 2025/26 season, featuring ten extraordinary opera productions. The season will commence on October 18 and conclude on May 30, offering a diverse range of operas for all music lovers.

Kicking off the season is Vincenzo Bellini's La Sonnambula, directed by the acclaimed tenor, Rolando Villazón. The season's highlights include Puccini's La Bohème (November 8), Richard Strauss' Arabella, Giordano's Andrea Chénier (December 13), Bellini's I Puritani (January 10), Wagner's Tristan und Isolde (March 21), Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin (May 2), and the contemporary opera El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego by composer Gabriela Lena Frank.

For opera enthusiasts who can't make it to the Met, the Met Live in Cinema series offers a solution. The series will begin on October 18, with performances shown on more than 200 screens in cinemas across the country. Ticket sales for live broadcasts of Metropolitan Opera performances in German and Austrian cinemas have already begun.

Notable productions in the Met Live in Cinema series will be conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, including some of the season's highlights. The production of Giordano's Andrea Chénier for the Met Live in Cinema season 2025/26 is directed by Sir David McVicar.

The stellar cast for the Met Live in Cinema series includes Nadine Sierra, Xabier Anduaga, Lise Davidsen, Michael Spyres, and Asmik Grigorian.
